Acceptance
By installing or using GemBoxer, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, uninstall the app.
License
GemBoxer is provided free for personal and commercial use. You may not reverse-engineer, redistribute, or resell the app.
No warranty
GemBoxer is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind — express or implied. We make no guarantees about fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, or error-free performance.
PIN responsibility — read carefully
Your PIN is yours alone. GemBoxer cannot recover it. PIN-folder keys are derived from your PIN using PBKDF2 and are not stored in recoverable form. If you forget your PIN, access to that folder and all its contents is permanently lost. After 3 incorrect attempts, the folder self-destructs: all encrypted files are deleted and keys are destroyed with no recovery path. This behavior is intentional and irreversible.
Data loss
We are not liable for data loss resulting from device failure, accidental deletion, forgotten PINs, factory resets, or any other cause. Encryption protects your data from unauthorized access — it does not protect against device loss or user error. Back up important files independently.
File ownership
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to store and share any files you add to GemBoxer. GemBoxer does not verify copyright or licensing status of stored files. Do not store or share files you do not own or have permission to use.
File sharing responsibility
When you share files using GemBoxer, you are responsible for what you share and who you share it with. Do not use GemBoxer to share illegal, harmful, or unauthorized content.
Prohibited use
Do not use GemBoxer to store, distribute, or access material that is illegal in your jurisdiction. The encryption features are provided for legitimate personal privacy — not to facilitate illegal activity.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GemBoxer's developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to loss of data.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
